Day 81 Limelight Hydrangeas

I love my Limelight Hydrangeas!!  I even love them when they are dried up from the previous season.  I will keep the dried flowers for winter interest, even though they are usually covered in snow!  It's been pretty cloudy, wet and gloomy here the last few days.  So since the lighting I am not loving my inside light at this time, I went out to get a few shots of my favorite dried blossoms before I have to trim them back for new growth.

I can't recall the name of these, but they are a spreading flower that drapes over our rocks.  Also in my hydrangea garden.

I love water droplets.  First time I have ever tried to manual focus.  Not the greatest, but I'm going to blame it on my eyes.  I don't wear my glasses like I should. ;)

After today and all the rain we got, these were just water logged by the evening.

  1. I like the last shot; it's so clean and simple. I'm so flattered that you asked how I get my pictures so vivid when I'm always admiring yours and wonder how you get your amazing "look" on everything! I wish we lived closer so we could just have a fun playing on the computer day. I have a friend here that I do that with every once in a while. I love learning what she does, and it's fun to be able to share some tricks with her as well. As to the vivid look, I use LR and up the Vibrance slider. I don't mess with Saturation as much because it tends to mess with skin tones, so I just play with vibrance, midtones and contrast. Wish I had a better answer for you, but half the time I have no idea how I end up with something, it just kind of happens. Thank you for making my day though. :o)
