Day 159 My Catcher

Long day...sorry!  I want to get to everyone's blog, but the day just got away from me.  I just wanted to thank you all for your great tips on the RAW monochrome thing.  I thought about it right after I had shot a series of my children together that the photos would not be monochrome in RAW (errrrr....)!  I haven't had a chance to work with them yet.  I'll let you know what I decided to do once I do.  Night ;)

Thank you all for your sweet comments on my previous days photos!  You are all so sweet and know how to make someone's day.....Now this photo might not be all that yummy with backlighting, but there is something about  it that I just really like.  My son LOVES to play catcher!!  In this photo he just looks so grown up to me it makes me sad and happy all at the same time.  I would love to edit more of the photos from this night, but that will have to be for another day.   Also, I was going to ask about editing photos with backlighting or a hazy effect...is it just a given that the skin tones are not going to be just so??

Just for fun....
Seems like it was a mask day for my oldest DS!!  The two boys role played Star Wars today.

  1. I have a hard time editing backlit photos too. This looks good to me though! Love the Darth Vader shot!

  2. I love the angle you got for each picture. They both convey a different story. The Vader picture reminds me of that cute VW commercial from the superbowl.

  4. Okay, first off...love the darth vader...we have a few of those in the house, lol! And the first pic? Love it! I love the fence and sky and comp. Really a great feel. Okay, tell me what lens you have! ;) I am just venturing into the baseball pic mode. :)

  5. P.s.
The tones look good to me! I am no expert, but that back light haze adds a yellow hue, almost like you chose a yellow color fill layer, so I surmise the tones will be warmer, naturally, and I am cool with that! Oh, and Joey loves playing catcher too!

  6. I do too like the fence effect going... very nice.
Darth Vader, Dark Vader as my son would say it, was my cat's first name, but I guess he figured that our cat was as white as he could be and changed his name to Ben.
    Anyway, great picture.
