Day 157 How?

Not a very creative title, but it is something that I have wondered for the last few months since I have become more serious about this photography thing.  HOW do professional "Mommy" photographers do it??  I have this passion in my heart to take photographs for others, but fear it will take forever to get the photos to them. (as it does now)  Is it me and that I am not as organized as I should be?  That it seems to be a challenge to just get the day of the photo up, much less provide a client with a handful of edited photos within a reasonable time frame?  I'd love to hear your tips and/or advice ;)

OK, on a less serious note, we had a wonderful day!  We have a few more subjects to finish up for school, but today we decided to just have some summer fun!  It was very hot and humid again today.  We didn't complain because it was a long and cold winter for us!   We were beginning to wonder whether we should buy the kids summer clothing or just skip to fall...JK...but I did think it a few times.  We spent the day in our blow up pool, eating ice cream, watching a movie, more pool time, blowing more bubbles (which I photographed and have yet to look at them) as well as my DD tending to my flowers. I loved her little toes with all the flowers she had pulled off my hanging flowers, it was too cute not to photograph.  Tomorrow will be a day of studies....or maybe the water park?!?
And because I couldn't resist this one....I was up in my room getting ready to come out to swim with them and this is what I saw.  They would stand there like this and then just like that push each other into the water...I ran to get my camera and told them to stand like this again.  It really captures their relationship and how they enjoy playing together.
And a total surprise while I was photographing a flower in the front of my house during sunset...this little guy decided to land.  Not the best focus, but I was taken my surprise.

  2. I really understand what you are saying..How? I do not have a answer, so that is why I decided to go for details, it is easy to delete those kind of photos, because when I have people...mess will follow me. It is hard to delete, hard to edit. I hope I can figure that out one day.
Anyway, your photos are very very good. I really like the color tons that you use. Cute little toes and the brothers shot is a wonderful memory.
The macro is always great, again, lovely colors

  3. I love all of these, they have such connection. The light in the last two is just divine! :) I struggle with dividing my time between family/photography as a side job. I know I could never go full-time until my kids are bigger/in school. Hopefully it will wait for me :)

  4. The first one is so sweet. And I love witnessing the relationships and bonds between my kiddos too. It is what life is all about, really. :)

  5. Oh, my...I love that first shot! (Well, all of them but particularly the first, lol)

I tell my clients to expect an email from with with their gallery in about a week. Most are laid back and understand I have three children to attend to so it hasn't been a huge biggie yet.

  8. I love her little feet! Awesome capture! I fear the exact same thing you fear! Right now, I'm soooo behind on editing--yet, I crave to take more photos! LOL I think PT photogs limit their sessions to make sure they can balance life. They also tell their clients it's a two-to-three week turnaround time. But I still don't know if I could do it without letting others down--cause really I can get very disorganized in a heartbeat!

  9. I love the sweet embrace, but these are all gorgeous! I hear ya...I have problems editing my own pics and getting the laundry done...I don't think I could throw in a few sessions, lol! But, I am not a multi-tasker. lol

  10. I love all your pictures, but the one of the two boys together is STUNNING! I love the angle, the way you processed it, and the love you feel oozing out of it! It is one of my favorite photos ever...really! It is fantastic!

I've had so many people tell me I should start up a business and I have done a few sessions for friends and family, but when I do, it seems like work and I am so much more critical of myself that I find it takes the fun out of it for me, so for now I'm just happy doing what I can, when I can and if I do a session they just have to know that my family comes first.
