Day 153 Iris

My irises are blooming!

And I've been working with my reflector.  Today I used a stack of white paper to rest on my daughter's arm while taking most of these shots since my reflector was much to large.

May you might have some advice for me....another dreaded skin tones question....so if on the CMYK numbers the M is higher than the Y, what do you suggest to do to fix that....I feel like it turns my photos much to green if I move it to lower the number.  Thanks!

I also added a photo for Day 150 as well as Day 148 if you'd like to take a peek....slowly catching up again!!

And for some reason Blogger is not allowing me to comment on posts...sorry!  I will keep trying ;)

  1. These are so sweet. I have no idea on the CMYK question-I don't know how to do anything with that or even what it means. Maybe I should learn? :-)

  5. Still in awe of those photos of your daughter. Love!

I remember a thread once that Lisa on CM that sometimes the CMYK system won't work and you have to use your eye. She was specifically talking about a photo that had a tad bit more of magenta. :)

  6. I never thought of using white paper as a reflector....great idea! With my luck though, I would have dropped it on her and woken her up and these shots are too precious to have missed. And your Iris is lovely; the bokeh rocks and I love it's so sharp that you even captured the spider web on it!

BTW, tell your DH that Texas rocks and you need to come visit. We have cowboys, country music, horses, longhorns, western towns and all kinds of other fun stuff to share with him. I would love to be your hostess with the mostest and show you around, so lets start working on him ok!

  7. Instead of removing magenta when it is too high, add yellow instead. You will get much better results. Beautiful pictures!

  9. These are so so so pretty!!! LOVE them! I agree with Chesney, add yellow, just a hair...I usually add just enough to get them equal, as I like pinkish skin in little ones. :)

  10. Thanks for your comments about my skin tones. I often feel like I struggle with them. I am calibrated and shoot in RAW. I change the WB in ACR to whatever looks right. I pay attention to the RGB numbers as well but don't always follow the rules for that exactly if it's not looking right. I think I started to do a CMYK tutorial on CM awhile ago but had to stop because it's not possible in PSE. Or that could have been something else. I don't remember now. I'll have to look into it and see what can be done.
