Day 126 Birthday With Family...The Best & We're Blessed
Nothing feels better than being with Family and celebrating whatever the event may be. Today it was my middle DS's 6th birthday party with Family. It was a hoot!! There was no theme, but he came up with one on his own. He asked me this morning..."Mommy, can I just wear my cowboy clothes?" He had just gotten a new cowboy hat from a garage sale yesterday. It was the sweetest lady whom we purchased it from. Her mother had just passed and she was selling items she didn't want as keepsakes. This was one of them and I purchased a couple hand fulls of other items as well. I told her her mothers items will be enjoyed by many and will continue to keep giving joy to many because I will be using them as photo props. She loved it....In fact, there was a VERY old toy in a box that my middle DS asked if I would buy for him and I kindly said "Not this time"....he politely responded with an "OK Mommy" and put it back where he found it. The lady overheard him ask me and when I gave her my money she told me to put that toy in my bag for him if I didn't mind. She wanted it to go to a little boy whom she knew would enjoy it and told me to give it to him when I felt it most appropriate. It made me feel good as a Mommy because I feel my children made a good first impression. Proud moment. So I have the toy...it is still in the bag from the sale and I will surprise it for him at some point. Knowing him he will tear up and say "Mommy, she didn't have to do that, but it was very kind of her." Love this little boy!!!! So back to the cowboy clothes....I said, "Sure, you may wear them. But please put on a pair of jeans without holes." "But Mom, cowboy jeans have holes?" We both agreed they do and that is just what he wore....
We are so blessed with the families we have and love them so much. We enjoyed having everyone over and the kids had a great time. I have many photos, but it is late. I would love to get to them next week sometime so that I can show you. We'll see.
Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful, beautiful, amazingly talented MOMS!! Blessings to you as you spend the day with those special to you.

What a precious moment! I love the holes in his pants. I like their horses and the sun. Sweet. Thank you for the story about the garage sale. What a sweet boy you have! You are a good mommy!

ReplyDeleteHappy Mothers Day to you as well!
What a sweet story and sweet boy you have. Love this! Glad y'all had a good time. Happy birthday to him and Happy Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Tracy, this is absolutely beautiful. I don't know which I love more, the insanely cute boys or the beautiful lighting. I'm going to go with the boys becasue little cowboys are just awesome! I'm so glad that you had a wonderful birthday. I hope you have a lovely mother's day tomorrow. :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, your comment made me giggle becasue it was actually raining in the photo of Karl and Adalyn. :) We had to get out of the house so we found a shelter area and let Adalyn run wild. I gave it a pop of color so it wouldn't look so dull. hehe
Such a great story and the picture is fabulous. Great light.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have wonderful Mother's day and thank you for sharing your talent with all of us.
I really like the vintage feel and rounded corners on this photo...good choice! And the more I read about your sons, the more I adore them. You are raising such good, good boys! Hey, I wonder if your 6 year old and my 6 year old might hit it off together? Then we could be in-laws in 20 years or so!
ReplyDeleteOkay you made me tear up! Thanks for sharing! The cowboys look awesome--great capture!
