All RAW files, Now what??
Well, this past week all I shot in was RAW. If you have been following my blog, you know that I just switched from shooting .jpeg to both .jpeg and RAW. Well, with vacation and not wanting to run out of card space on my cards, I only shot in RAW. So now how do I see what I actually took a photo of? I'd love to know the fastest most efficient method of viewing so I don't have to spend forever looking through thousands of photos :) This might be a silly question, but I am the master of silly questions :) Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I have been enjoying my family and a long vacation!! I will catch up sometime. Thanks in advance for any advice about the RAW files! And I use PS CS5 ;)

I use LR primarily so it's not an issue for me. Whether you use PSE or PS, you should be able to open the RAW phots in Adobe Camera Raw -- I think it comes with both programs. I have PSE but never tried ACR. I do know that you need to make sure that you have the latest version of it to ensure it's compatible with your camera model. Hope this helps!
ReplyDeleteYAY!!! You're back! I hope you had an amazing vacation. I'm behind too, so don't worry. Do you use Bridge to open your photos? I preview them in there. I'm still trying to figure out how to rate with stars, there has to be a keyboard short cut because you can filter them. I need to work on that tonight. So I will let you know what I find out. But bridge would be my suggestion. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm no help here because I still only shoot in JPG, but I can't wait to see what you've been up to! Glad you had a great vacation.
ReplyDeleteCannot help you because I am still trying to figure that out myself.
ReplyDeleteCannot wait to see the photos.
I use picasa to view and organize all my photos (I shoot in RAW too). I can delete the ones I don't want and open up the ones I do in PSE.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great time to use BRIDGE which would have come with CS5. In fact, it's probably the only way I know to look through that many pictures!
ReplyDeletei view them in bridge. I open Bridge and view them that way...you can make the "thumbnails" big or small to see more at ta time.
ReplyDeletethere is also a program that you can purchase to view them on your pc without being in bridge.
bridge works for me
No help here. I use Lightroom. But I can upload them to iPhoto and view them that way. Do you use a Mac?
ReplyDeleteyeah, try bridge! :)
