Day 116 Rainy Day

Today was a rainy Spring day....tomorrow....a snowy Spring day.  I'm dreaming of flip flops, painted nails, shorts, yellow polka dot bikinis and a HOT SUN!!!  Until then I get to take pictures of fun raincoats, boots.....

and my sweet peas nestled under a blanket....

For all you wonderful photographers....how would you handle that shadow on my oldest DS's face.....selective levels adjustment?  If that is the answer....how do you get rid of the line you see from adjusting the shadow?  Thanks!!

  3. I really like the colors in the raincoat photo! Not sure about how to get rid of pesky shadows...wish I did because I have a lot of photos I could fix. Ha!
Thanks for the comments on my blog! I really don't mind my girls making messes, but so many people would shudder at the fact that I let them do it on our hardwood floors. The floors are well loved and very broken in...let's just say that. Ha!

  4. Cute rain coat pics. Love the last one. I don't know how to get rid of the shadow either. Maybe try lightening it a little?

  5. Okay be prepared for a long comment! lol LOVE these photos, they are wonderful. That last one is so insanely cute. I can't wait to have all my kiddos and have a photo like this. It should be put in a frame, every time I look at it, it makes me smile. They are just so precious.

As for the shadow. Have you tried lightening it and then masking back and painting it on. What I would try but will be very tedious is brush back the lightness at several different opacities. If that makes sense. That way around that line it won't be so defined. Does that make sense. Or using the lasso tool and making the feather really strong. I don't know that you can completely get rid of the shadow but you could get it lighter. Hope that makes sense and/or helps. :)

Also I calibrated today and scrolled down to the photo you had asked if your son look like he had red in him and with my monitor it looks perfect. :)

  6. Thanks girl! Your comment really means a lot to me because I think your photos are great too! :)

Do you have PS or PSE? I usually use curves. I would just put the pointer on that area, lift up the curve until it looked light enough (it is too dark to be perfect), then invert and paint that on with a soft brush. Then play around with the opacity. I usually don't have a definable line when I do it that way.

  7. No advice on the shadow, but I love the series of photos. They really tell a nice story of the kids' fun in the rain.

  8. When I'm finished with my points, I hover over it with the pointer thingy at the top of the palate and right click. There should be an option to delete at the top of the tab that opens.

I just saw that I never commented on th actual picture! I'm sorry, because I actually thought, I LOVE the last one! I have similar idea on my inspiration list.

  9. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the last photo. Oh my, it's making me all weak in the knees with it's cuteness. I have no idea how to edit out that shadow, but it doesn't bother me at all because everything else about the photo is so wonderful.
