Yes, I am still here. I am a bit behind and hope to catch up on my 365 very soon. Not only was everyday in July booked with something, but our AC, Car and Garage Door Opener (not the biggest thing) decided to stop working.
Rewind a bit......
Last week Tuesday, July 19th our AC decided it needed a rest. We had some major heat waves along with HIGH humidity roll through MN. Many of the days had heat indexes of 115-120. If you wanted to feel like a wet rag all you had to do was step outside for a second and you'd have sweat instantly dripping off of you. Our AC made it through the roughest part, but on the last day stopped working. We had to wait til the following Tuesday to have it fixed which we were able to move up to Sunday. We were going to stick it out, but as the temps in the house rose to 89 we decided to pack up the family. My husbands parents were happy to have us with them for the next 4 days. My parents live 15 minutes from his so we were able to spend time with them as well.
Saturday afternoon we packed the car up to head back home to be there for our Sunday AC appointment anytime between 8 AM and 4 PM. We filled the almost empty car up with gas and thought we would be on our marry way. We were all trying to convince ourselves that it would feel good to get home and back into routine. I rolled my window down after Marty topped us off because he wanted to tell me something. No sooner did he get two words out to see the "Uh Oh" look on my face. The sweet vroom, vroom of the car wasn't so sweet. In fact, there wasn't a sound to be heard. Luckily Marty's parents were just down a couple streets, a turn, another turn and street down. With jumper cables in hand, Marty and his dad attempted to see if the battery was the mischief maker. Not this time. Thankfully, his parents offered us their van until our car is repaired. We won't find out until tomorrow what's wrong with it. We are praying for a quick and rather inexpensive fix. :)
So we are home, our AC was fixed at 8:15 Sunday morning and we are enjoying the space of a van for a while. In all this, it reminded us how thankful we are for the things we take for granted on a daily basis. We learned we don't need the AC on constantly for us to be comfortable and the temp for it to run is set much higher than before. And I learned that it's OK to be behind as long as I have my family with me. So, I will catch up and want say thank you to those who have left your sweet comments. I've been a lurker while I am enjoying the summer activities with my children and still taking photos.
So glad to hear from you and know you are ok, but so sorry to hear about all your troubles. I don't think any of us had any idea how hard this project would be to keep up with during the summer, and you've really gotten a triple whammy. I'm glad the air is fixed and you had a good visit with the grandparents that you wouldn't have had otherwise, and I'll keep my fingers crossed for good news on the car.
ReplyDeleteAh yes...life again. LOL! :) Hope things settle down for ya! :)
ReplyDeleteDitto to Kristin. I remember days w/out the AC while living in FL. Glad things are looking up for you.
