Day 184 Meet Ms. Argus

Yes, Amy!!  I now have my second vintage camera.  I found a 50mm 3.5f Argus yesterday at Goodwill.

ARGUS,INC.(Michigan & Chicago Illinois.) has been making various cameras through the WWII till today. Most products were 35mm cameras though, the low cost TLR Argoflex were also made. The Argus C3 an early 35mm model was launched in 1939, continued by 1966. A high grade Argus C44 was launched In 1956, which was the latest model of Argus C series.

Its socalled A Brick. The shutter included in the body makes 1/10 to 1/300 sec with internal synch. The lens is Argus Coated Cinter 50mm F3.5.
 I was also surprised to find a completed roll of film inside!  I am not sure how old the photos would be, but I am going to take the roll in to get it developed.
 I have yet to clean the camera up and get film.  But you can bet I am going to have to play around with this vintage gem!
 In the meantime, it was just fun to photograph my son while he checked each.and.every.switch.

    Awesome find - I've put my mom on a mission to find old cameras during her trips to Good Will. So far, I've got nothing. These shots are great.

    Oh I love it! I would be nervous to see what is on a roll of film left in an old camera... hope it is nothing weird, haha.

    Awesome shots! I love each and every one of them and you've inspired me to go hunting for one of these little gems...not only would they be fun to display but I would love to set up a photo shoot just like this because I just love these pictures (oops, I think I already said that, but I really, really do!)

    I'm totally jealous too! Matthew found a vintage Brownie movie camera last summer while doing the scavenger hunt and both of us have wanted more ever since then. Love these!

    You found this at the Goodwill? I need to go to my Goodwill!!! What an amazing find. Have you developed the photos yet? Let us know what they are of and I hope you share some photos you take with it as well. :)
