Day 191 On the hunt

I've been missing in action.  The last couple weeks have been very busy for me.  It doesn't look like things will really slow down until early August...so until then, I may not have a post every day.

Sunday we spent the day just vegging as a family.  I stayed in my pajamas all day and walked around the yard hunting for little critters with the boys.

We found....

A white-marked Tussock Moth Caterpillar.  He lucked out and was let go.  We read that if touched, it could cause an allergic reaction.  This mama didn't want to have to deal with that!

Our second friend is Spike, a Morning cloak caterpillar.  Since I couldn't find this guy on the Internet last time and I thought he looked a bit scary, he didn't get photographed. ;)  This time around he did!  Check out those spikes!  Yikes!
He is now in his chrysalis and within 7 days should emerge as a beautiful butterfly!!  Yay!

We also found a baby frog, but let him go to grow a bit yet.  Such a fun day!
