I am a fan of close crops. I love to capture the little features of the small ones. You might also remember this post that I did on my DS's eyes. I printed these out and framed them for our office. I look at them nightly now when I edit. They draw me in and remind me of each of my DS's uniqueness. For the love of eyes :)
Some have asked about clean edits...I hope I am understanding it right, but I believe clean edits are those where you don't run actions? It's where you try to get a good photo straight from camera and have to do a few adjustments in PS to make it look well. Again, I am still learning as well so if I didn't explain this correctly, please pipe in ;)
{settings: f/1.4 shutter 1/500 ISO 200} Taken straight above my DD.
Happy Weekend!

All I have to say is...OMG! Well maybe also holy gorgousness, incredible, oh la la, and that is awesome! What a shot.
ReplyDeleteI got so excited about your photo and what I wanted to say about it that I forgot to say thank you for answering that question, and would you mind enlightening us on how you got this amazing shot?
ReplyDeleteKristin...xoxoxo..you are so sweet! Of course I would love to share...I have thought of including my settings when I take the photo, but I always forget and just get so busy getting the photo done to post. We have the cold snow here right now so I try to do most of my photos in the morning. For this photo I had my DD sitting on an old chest so she would think it was fun ;) The patio door/window is 90 degrees to my right/her left. I also have windows behind me, but most of the light was coming from my right. I used my 50mm and was standing on a chair with a flower over my head I believe ;) I color corrected her skin (work in progress) and I did run an action on this one to brighten her eyes. I bumped up the levels to a bit I believe. I hope that helps! ;) Have a great weekend! I'm off to check out the other blogs, my favorite thing to do these days.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing. I'd love to see your settings and do you remember what kind of action you used?
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking lately about how fun it would be to have a blog friend get together. I'm in central Texas and would love to try to arrange something if other's were interested. Whereabout are you?
One last thing about boys and dolls. My DH and I have talked about this a lot, and one of the sweetest/saddest things that Ryan said this xmas after sitting on Santa's lap and telling him what he wanted for xmas was "I like Santa because he didn't laugh at me for wanting Aurora." I don't feel like Ryan wants a princess for the same reason my daughter does, rather he is enamored with her and thinks she's beautiful. He is a boy, feeling boy things toward a pretty girl. He also almost always has her with Prince Phillip, so he seems to get the boy/girl relationship. Everyone is going to feel differently about this sort of thing, but I feel like I want to support my kids in whatever they want to do, as long as it isn't dangerous or harmful, so that they'll know I'm there for them and won't judge them for thinking outside the box.
I love the way you and your husband look at things. My son has a couple dolls. I love the nurturing side it brings out in them. I share your feelings.
ReplyDeleteThis is just beautiful Tracy!! I love browsing your blog!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous eyes! I have never been able to get a shot like that of my kids eyes. I do not know what I am doing wrong. Any words of wisdom? Thanks for stopping by my blog :)
ReplyDeleteYou get the prize for the best eye photo, for sure! In a word...gorgeous. I am totally blown away. And thank you for including all the wonderful details.
ReplyDeleteYou must have a sweet lens if it goes down to 1.2. Are you a Nikon or Canon girl?
I changed the f-stop...typo of 1.2, should have been 1.4. I am a Nikon girl! :)
