It's fun to really be in the moment each day and watch my loves. Since starting my blog, I have been trying to take each day and capture what I can. My children's little life is going far too fast and it is going to be just my husband and I in a quiet house sooner than I want.
So, that said, I have a few photos to share for Day 33. The first set are of my DS and DD emptying the dishwasher. My children have several chores around the house and this is one that they love to do together. My daughter hears the words "empty dishwasher" and runs with glee to the dishwasher waiting for someone to open it for her to help. There are rules when she helps to keep it safe. Whomever is emptying it with her needs to take each item from her right away...plates...bowls....silverware. Well today she didn't want to give my DS a spoon. He wanted her to be safe. And the story unfolds with the photos.

The photo of my DS is just stunning to me as his mother. It truly captures him while doing his studies for school and how much focus he puts into each subject. Today we was working on his Spanish flashcards and I caught him concentrating so hard. He warms my heart.

Last, but not least.....the last photo is of me in -7 degree temps for a self portrait I entered into a contest for a forum I belong to ;) Crazy yes, but I will look back at it when I am really old and get a few good chuckles!...Winner announced this morning and ...I will have to try again!

Thank you for making my morning! The picture story of the kids is so sweet (love the hug at the end), the picture of your DS is AMAZING and should be made into a giant canvas and hung somewhere prominent in your house, and your self portrait made me laugh out loud. You're crazy and deserve to win grand prize in my book!
ReplyDeleteso sweet. love all of these.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the dishwasher story! And the hug....so sweet! I agree that the one of your son is amazing. And way to go after that prize, Tracy!! ;o)
ReplyDeleteOkay, these are ALL fabulous! I too especially love the one of your son and the B&W coversion is spectacular!! You're so brave for taking that pic in the snow, but it is so awesome...good for you!!
ReplyDeleteoh my! that photo of your DS hugging your DD melts my heart. I'm sure that image is what was keeping you going in that last photo. So cool! :)
ReplyDeleteAww! The one of your DS hugging you DD is so, so sweet.
ReplyDeleteAnd that last one....you are crazy. LOL. I missed seeing the thread for that contest until it was too late. Hope they do another one!
Those first pictures tell the story perfectly- the one of your son IS truly stunning, and the last one? You are crazy. How do you manage it all? Such a great day of pictures- thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh these are all great, but the last one is too fun!
ReplyDeleteAhhh! I LOVE the story telling in these pictures! Is he laughing at her in that 2nd picture? That is what my boys do with their sis. It makes her even more mad! LOL! I agree, you need to blow that one up of your son and put it on a canvas! You are CRAZY! I would love to hear more about how you got that shot set up. I could not even imagine walking in that snow! LOL! Kudos for wearing a bikini too! I wouldn't be caught dead in one after 3 kids!
ReplyDeleteThank you all!!!
ReplyDeleteKatherine~How do I manage it all? I am not so sure myself! I would have to say passion for my family and my hobby. Keeps me going :)
Keara~Yes!! He is laughing at her. I didn't really notice he was until I was editing the photo and then realized he was. I keep my camera on the counter and pulled it out to get some of them working together on the dishwasher. I was glad I had it once the above episode happened. I felt bad for snapping while they were struggling with the spoon, but I think that is the life with a mom with camera. ;) As for the snow picture...I got everything set up with clothes on and a parka (toasty warm) :) Once I finished that I had a little white basket like the orange and set that on my right side to put my clothes in..bottoms, sweatshirt, socks. My boots were by my feet...you can kinda see the red peeking through by my feet. And snap snap left hand remote. Done in three minutes or so. My hands were the only thing that were hurting!! Crazy, but fun. And laying flat helps with the belly!!;) Thanks!!
awesome shots and great shot of you too. explain to me because I have no clue but what do DD and DS stand for?
ReplyDeleteGreat post! LOL at your portrait! Genius!!!
